The primary role of the Technician I is to provide technical support to the investigator, and his/her research team.  He/She will be required to work on multiple projects designed by the investigator.


  • performs microbiology testing in a timely fashion maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy
  • Plans tests, completes measurements, and makes simple components
  • Sets up and maintains equipment
  • Maintains an adequate supply of all components and material for optimal work flow
  • Plans work schedule to optimize test results and coordination with research staff
  • Responsible for communicating and maintaining records of experimental data
  • Strict adherence to standard laboratory procedures and practices. May assist in developing, devising or improving new ones, or in modifying existing methods, practices, and procedures.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 3 year general B.Sc.
  • 1 year of laboratory experience preferred


  • Must be versatile, flexible and self-motivated with strong communication skills (verbal & written) and strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Experience with data management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard software
  • Must demonstrate satisfactory work performance and attendance record
