The Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute of Mount Sinai Hospital, a University of Toronto affiliated research centre, is one of the world's leading centres in biomedical research. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Coordinator reports to Dr. Prakesh Shah. The incumbent will assist a variety of duties including organize teleconferences and meetings, plan conferences and workshops, coordinate data sharing and sub-grant agreement processes, compose meeting minutes and other research endeavours as assigned.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the coordination of research activities for multiple international neonatal research networks; assist in work plans and timelines creation for those network activities;
- Assist in the coordination of research data request activities; ensure adherence to data request policies;
- Work closely with site abstractors, research coordinators, I.T. team, and statisticians when checking for data submissions for reports and manuscripts creation; Communicate with different teams to resolve issues and troubleshoot as needed;
- Work closely with a team of coordinators to plan international symposiums, annual EPIQ conference, , grand-rounds, workshops, etc;
- Work closely with the network’s Executive Committees and Governing Board; track and follow up on action items;
- Participate in the planning and coordination of the network’s Annual Report ; work closely with Annual Report Review Committee and the IT Manager on its development and publication;
- Assist with funding application preparation, grant proposal development, and REB application submission, renewal, termination;
- Liaise with the Grants Management Office and Legal Department to coordinate contracts, Clinical Trial Agreements, Data Transfer Agreements, and other research-related agreements.
- Work closely with the PI and Finance Department to assist in the administration of research cost centre activities (e.g. plan event budgets, prepare expense reports, prepare reimbursement submissions, prepare payment requisitions etc);
- Perform other general administrative and office related duties (travel arrangements, photocopying, faxing, arranging couriers, ordering and maintaining office supplies, etc);
- Other duties as directed by the Principal Investigator or his/her designate.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor Degrees in Health Science, Public Health or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience and demonstrated success in research setting
- High degree of computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Familiarity in working with confidential information; maintaining professionalism, diplomacy and tact under high pressure situations
- Ability to work with an interdisciplinary research team, including clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, and scientists.
