Position Overview:

The Research Assistant I will work in the Siminovitch Lab to assist in support of translational projects our group has initiated which involve integrated analysis of clinical genetic and immune profiling data.  The Research Assistant I will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator on research projects and will assist with the production of high-quality research, documents, communication, and overall coordination.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain study documents and other research files
  • Perform necessary quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of the research data
  • Assist Principal Investigator with preparing reports of study progress
  • Help with the preparation and submission of ethics approval applications and amendments as required
  • Assist with literature searches, data abstraction, translation of articles, and bias assessment
  • Contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations of the unit/ lab

 

Education and Experiences:

  • Four years undergraduate program in life sciences, biotechnology or biochemistry is required.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Well-developed time management skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Basic familiarity with conducting research studies
  • Some understanding of research design and research ethics
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of computer software applications, including Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong statistical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Aptitude for attention to detail
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary research team
