The Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI) of Mount Sinai Hospital, a University of Toronto affiliated research centre, is one of the world's leading centres in biomedical research. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Research Coordinator will play a central role in the implementation and evaluation of Family Integrated Care (FICare) across multiple healthcare institutions in Ontario. Acting as a key liaison between research teams, clinical sites, and stakeholder partners, the incumbent will lead the development of educational tools and knowledge mobilization resources tailored for families, healthcare professionals, and institutions. This individual will coordinate with multiple sites, manage stakeholder engagement, and facilitate the translation of research findings into clinical practice
Key Responsibilities:
1. Educational Material Development & Knowledge Translation
- Lead the creation of teaching and training tools tailored to families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams involved in FICare.
- Translate research findings into plain language summaries and educational content.
- Tailor knowledge mobilization tools to local site contexts and user needs (parents, nurses, administrators, etc.).
- Support capacity-building efforts by developing workshops, guides, and digital resources to promote uptake of FICare principles.
2. Site Liaison & Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for Level 2 NICUs implementing FICare across Ontario.
- Coordinate and support multi-site implementation teams and foster collaboration with the central FICare steering committee.
- Facilitate communication between investigators, healthcare teams, administrators, and caregivers to ensure effective knowledge exchange and site readiness.
- Monitor site progress, identify barriers, and support solutions that drive local implementation forward.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Facilitation
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with patients, families, researchers, healthcare professionals, and administrators.
- Identify and support knowledge champions within clinical sites to advocate for and lead change.
- Organize and participate in focus groups, stakeholder meetings, and consultation sessions to capture user feedback and ensure relevance of education materials and strategies.
4. Research Integration & Knowledge Synthesis
- Participate in literature reviews and evidence appraisals to inform tool development and site support.
- Assist in synthesizing local patient/community data with broader research to create actionable recommendations.
- Contribute to study data collection and analysis where needed, particularly to inform knowledge translation products.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health care related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical research, health education, or knowledge mobilization.
- Demonstrated experience developing educational content or knowledge translation tools.
- Experience coordinating multi-site projects or acting as a site liaison preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport across diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with research methodologies, clinical environments, and data collection protocols.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with qualitative and/or quantitative analysis tools is an asset.
