DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Center for Mature Women Health (CMWH) is a new center that focuses on improving the lives of mature women. CMWH will bring together the work of researchers, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, and policy makers to drive change and have a meaningful impact on this population.

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager I (Strategy) role will support activities related to a program or research focused on health.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Program and Project Management

  • Oversee strategic/policy decisions and operational plans for program design, development and execution, working directly with internal and external project teams.
  • Develop new partnerships and maintains existing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (hospitals, community agencies, primary care clinics) by conducting outreach and relationship building
  • Conducting environmental scans and asset mapping to inform the development of strategy and updating of KPIs
  • Establishes KPIs to track project impact and informs strategic course correction based on data
  • In collaboration with the Research Manager II facilitate and lead weekly team development meetings
  • In collaboration with Principal Investigators and Research Manager II support trainee onboarding, development and day to day management
  • Work in partnership with leadership team and stakeholders, to develop and analyze project planning initiatives
  • Proactively identify and manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans as required
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Prepares quarterly and year-end activity and budget reports, communicate progress, milestones and other key project metrics to project leads and internal/external stakeholders
  • Develop Funding Agreements, project charters, project goals and budgets
  • Establishes deliverables to guide colleagues through program implementation
  • Prepare procurement and other related contracts with input from consultants
  • Collaborate on research activities and identify research opportunities
  • Leads team capacity-building activities and facilitates professional development

Administrative and Leadership Duties

  • Acts as primary point of contact for funding agencies and key internal and external partners and stakeholders, available as needed to plan/troubleshoot issues
  • Responsible for meeting agendas, minutes, and debriefing following key meetings
  • Responsible for the development for terms of reference with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement ongoing quality improvement strategies
  • Coordinates, moderates, and develops agendas for standing monthly calls
  • Identifies challenges/barriers, troubleshoots
  • Ensure timelines for project implementation are followed
  • Responds to requests for information about projects from community agencies and the media
  • Presents to health care providers and community organizations.
  • Provides monthly and semi-annual progress updates and reports for funders
  • Creates progress presentations for CMWH Senior Leadership, Sinai Health Foundation and donors or any other pertinent stakeholders as requested
  • Sits on inter-agency committees that set policies and practice standards
  • Takes lead role in writing and successfully obtaining grants for CMWH
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigators

Financial Accountability

  • Creates program budget that funds project team
  • Creates and oversees budget to support implementation
  • Develops concrete project milestones to ensure accountability for funds and KPIs
  • Manages project related expenses and financial reporting
  • Oversees payment of all vendors (consultants, contracted services) by tracking and ensuring payments are received
  • Drafts all vendor contracts

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree in health care field/ health administration
  • Project Management professional designation an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project management processes, principles and tools
  • Five (5) years’ project management experience in a healthcare setting
  • Superior interpersonal skills with ability to develop relationships with people representing a range of sectors
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proven experience successfully managing budgets
  • Research experience preferred
  • Ability to deliver measurable results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to create correspondence and reports, and prepare presentations and educational materials
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely when answering inquiries from the public and/or media
  • Demonstrated professional behavior and communication
