STUDY DESCRIPTION
The clinical study focuses on the pathophysiology and risk factors for the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) particularly the interaction between obesity and T2DM, risk factors for cardiovascular disease in individuals with metabolic abnormalities, and strategies for the treatment of T2DM including lifestyle interventions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for collaborating with the Investigator and other members of the department in the recruitment of study participants.
- Plans, implements and coordinates all aspects of data collection and source documentation as per the organization’s policy and ICH/GCP guidelines.
- Identifies problems using assessment skills and reports any abnormalities.
- Executes study related administrative tasks
- Recruit participants for clinical research studies
- Conducts telephone and/or clinical interviews to collect data schedule and coordinates patient visits/schedule as per study protocol including the administration of study questionnaires
- Administer the of 2-hour oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT) (including blood samples collection)
- Oversee the administration of meal test (including blood samples collection)
- Administer 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and data download and collection
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree with 1 to 2 years of experience
- Previous clinical research experience or healthcare experience as asset.
- Autonomous critical thinking ability
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required
- Ability to set priorities and work independently in a dynamic environment
- Expertise with venipuncture (must be competent or willing to be trained)
