This Part-time Opportunity is expected to last for six (6) months, with possibility of renewal

Dr. Daisy Singla has received an award by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to embark on a collaborative project, across three hospital sites in Toronto, investigating scalable models to improve access to psychological treatments for perinatal women. The Psychological Research Associate would play an integral role in providing clinical guidance and best practice oversight for clinical study staff as well as the recruitment process. The ideal applicant for this position would be trained in Behavioural Activation Therapy. The Psychological Research Associate will report to Dr. Singla (PI) and work closely with clinical leads in Toronto and the US.

The successful candidate will be housed in the Department of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai Hospital (MSH) and the Lunenfeld Tanenbaum Research Institute.



  • Use participant and treatment provider feedback to manage and modify implementation of intervention at one of the three clinical sites

  • Trains staff/researchers with respect to proper techniques of the data collection and to understanding and interpretation of the collected data.

  • Provides clinical oversight and supervision to clinical research personnel, including ensuring fidelity to treatment, appropriate study documentation and ensuring correct implementation of trial data in  accordance of  approved ethical procedures.    

  • Participate in team meetings and staff trainings

  • Provides significant clinical and scientific input for a large multi-site research trial

  • Participates in the preparation of research reports, articles for publication, protocols, manuals, letters of intent, grant proposals and presentations.



  • Successful completion of a PhD degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology

  • Registered with College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO)

  • Expert in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and preferably Behavioural Activation for patients with depression or anxiety.

  • Previous experience in supervising or co-supervising therapists in evidence-based psychological treatments for depression and/or anxiety

  • Recent and related experience in mental health research

  • Familiarity and experience working with perinatal populations

  • Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
