The Jackson lab is a newly established lab focused on the use of multiplexed imaging and single cell analyses to understand the formation and function of multi-cellular tissue subunits, communities of cells. Using imaging mass cytometry combined with multiple other technologies we track and investigate changing cellular interactions within pre-clinical models of disease and clinical patient samples. We are looking for a collaborative and meticulous lab manager / research technician to maintain the set up and day-to-day of a growing academic research lab while supporting varied scientific projects.

The Lab Manager will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of day to day lab operations as well as supporting diverse research projects and potentially running their own.


  • Supervise management of tissue sample, antibody, cell line and plasmid inventories
  • Establish standard operating procedures for diverse experimental protocols
  • Oversee the mouse genotyping and breeding program to maintain cost-effectiveness
  • Manage budget and spending oversight for the lab including ordering and other cost expenditures
  • Administer and monitor lab safety programs to ensure compliance
  • Training other lab members in numerous laboratory procedures
  • Coordinate usage and maintenance of shared lab equipment
  • Supervise and delegate shared lab duties for the efficient operation of the lab


  • Minimum B.A. or B.Sc in biological sciences. MS or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of laboratory research, technician or laboratory management experience
  • Extensive experience in:
    • molecular biology (cloning, PCR, library construction, conjugation biochemistry)
    • mammalian cell culture (transfections, lentiviral infection, reporter assays, primary culture, 3D culture)
    • mouse genetics (breeding, genotyping, dissection and tissue processing)
    • immunohistochemistry and tissue processing (fixation, antigen retrieval, immunostaining, imaging)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and record keeping skills
