The department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital welcomes applications for a Research Coordinator I to work on a multi-site (Women’s College Hospital, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre) project that endeavors to implement and evaluate an innovative online training program for resident clinicians to train in evidenced-based Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). This project is funded by the Ontario AHSC AFP Innovation Fund. The Research Coordinator reports to the Principal Investigators.


The responsibilities of the Research Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Recruitment and scheduling of research subjects across study sites
  • Obtaining informed consent
  • Administration of research questionnaires
  • Data collection and management 
  • Creation and maintenance of databases using statistical and textual software
  • Monitor and maintain deadlines and schedules
  • Perform literature searches
  • Prepare written correspondence, reports and presentations using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Perform other general office related duties as required (e.g., photocopying, organizing and maintaining filing system)


  • Successful completion of bachelor’s degree in health sciences or related field
  • Successful completion of a Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred
  • A minimum of two years of recent and related experience in or familiarity with a research environment in the mental health field
  • Experience with participant recruitment and informed consent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical databases an asset (e.g. SPSS)
  • Technical skills and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated verbal and written skills
  • Self-directed with an ability to make decisions and to exercise good judgement
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a flexibility to adjust to priorities
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work with a variety of individuals in a co-operative manner both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
