POSITION OVERVIEW
You will be a member of a multidisciplinary research team conducting COVID-19 research in hospitals and long term care homes (LTCHs) throughout the GTA. This is a rapidly evolving health crisis requiring fast responses, sometimes requiring visits to centers experiencing COVID-19 cases. Every effort will be made to perform study tasks remotely. Appropriate PPE will be provided to minimize risk if site visits are necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters of Science OR Bachelor of Science with equivalent experience
- Minimum one year clinical or clinical research experience required
- Experience in geriatrics or long term care settings preferred
- Experience in infectious diseases and or infection prevention preferred
- Excellent telephone, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and use of a car an asset
- Ability to work independently
- Computer and/or data base skills an asset
- Second language an asset
- Qualified in venipuncture
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Liases with long term care homes to identify homes potential subjects for participation
- Liases with collaborating agencies responsible for various aspects of the study (eg. Laboratories performing specified testing to ensure timely delivery of research samples,, LTCF administrative bodies)
- Obtains informed consent from residents/substitute decision makers and health care workers/staff of eligible LTCHs.
- Interviews subjects to obtain relevant health information
- Provides education materials and on-going support to administration and study subjects
- Obtains and ships laboratory samples for testing
- Maintains study records and prepares site reports for study meetings
- Assists with preparation of various study materials
- Assists with other duties or studies as required
