We welcome application for a General Research Assistant to work the SUMMIT trial. The Research Assistant is an integral part of the busy, dynamic, and growing lab, led by Clinician Scientist and PI Dr. Daisy Singla at the Lunenfeld Tanenbaum Research Institute. In this role, the specific focus will be to work on research projects focused on promoting access to brief, evidence-based psychological treatments. This includes the large, multi-site trial referred to as the Scaling Up Maternal Mental healthcare by Increasing access to Treatment (SUMMIT) study, funded by PCORI. The aim of the trial is to examine scalable models to improve evidence-based psychological treatments for perinatal depression and anxiety. The Research Assistant will report to the Study Principal Investigator (Dr. Daisy Singla).

Responsibilities of the Research Assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Aid in the recruitment and/or scheduling of research participants
  • Administration and collection of research questionnaires and consents; follow up with participants post-treatment and implement retention strategies
  • Troubleshoot and provide onsite technical assistance to any participant concerns with the online data collection system
  • Prepare and/or review grant materials, including budgets, contracts and project timelines
  • Prepare written correspondence, reports and presentations using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Perform other general office-related duties as required (e.g., note-taking, photocopying, organizing, collecting timesheets, faxing letters, note-taking, and maintaining hospital filing system)
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successful completion of a university degree, in a relevant field including public health, psychology, and/or health sciences.
  • Previous experience in recruiting study participants with a minimum of one year of recent and related experience a research environment.
  • Experience interacting with patients in clinical or mental health settings an asset.
  • Experience with platforms such as Google Drive, Zoom, and GoDaddy preferred. Technology competence is considered an asset.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a flexibility to adjust to priorities
  • Advanced technical skills and proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), including preparing study materials
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions and to exercise good judgement
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work with a variety of individuals in a co-operative manner both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work conscientiously and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
