POSITION OVERVIEW:

We welcome applications for a Recruitment Research Assistant to join the Scaling Up Maternal Mental healthcare by Increasing access to Treatment (SUMMIT) Trial, led by Dr. Daisy Singla (Clinician Scientist at LTRI). The Recruitment Research Assistant plays an integral role in the investigation of evidenced-based treatments for postpartum depression and other comorbidities in this large, multi-site trial. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for all study recruitment.

Responsibilities of the Research Assistant include but are not limited to:

  • Aid in the recruitment and scheduling of research subjects
  • Conduct safety assessments when required
  • Administration and collection of research questionnaires
  • Troubleshoot and provide onsite technical assistance to any participant concerns with the online data collection system
  • Data collection/entry
  • Monitor and maintain research logs, deadlines, and schedules
  • Perform literature searches
  • Assist in the preparation of research reports and peer-review process
  • Prepare written correspondence, reports and presentations using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Maintain regular communication with research team, providers, clinicians, and referral pathways as needed
  • Perform other general office related duties as required (e.g., photocopying, organizing and maintaining filing system)

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of a University degree in a relevant field, e.g., psychology
  • A minimum of one year of recent and related experience in or familiarity with a research environment in a mental health setting
  • Experience interacting with patients in clinical or mental health settings; excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high-levels of responsiveness
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated verbal and written skills
  • Self-directed with an ability to make decisions and to exercise good judgement
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a flexibility to adjust to priorities
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work with a variety of individuals in a co-operative manner both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
