DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate research activities within the Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery (OHNS) at Mount Sinai Hospital
- Performing nasal airflow testing, olfactory testing, measuring ocular pressures and coordinating research protocols including randomized clinical trials
- Data quality checks to ensure demographics and results all match
- Observing and following all hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- Redirecting and escalating any concerns or questions to the OHNS leadership as appropriate
- Seeking advice and direction in solving problems and actively participating in process improvements
- Performing other duties consistent with the position, as required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Successful completion of a related degree or diploma (e.g. Health Sciences) from a recognized educational institution
- Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered
- Recent and related experience in a research environment preferred
- Experience with database management (Redcap) and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel)
- Effective organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently, cooperatively and communicate appropriately well with other staff
- Organized and independent with a keen sense to problem solve
- Flexible with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multitasking and dynamic environment.
- Required to adhere to hospital safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Ability to sit, walk, stand and possess manual dexterity to effectively perform essential requirements of this position
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of this position
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
In accordance with Institute’s policy and legislated health and safety requirements, employment is conditional upon the verification of credentials, completion of a health review, and demonstrating proof of immunity and vaccination status of vaccine-preventable diseases. All employees and affiliates will follow safe work practices and comply with health and safety policies, procedures, and training. Successful candidates will be required to provide two (2) written reference letters from their former employer(s)/supervisor(s).
A recent Provincial Directive mandates all employees of public hospitals in Ontario to be either fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or be regularly tested. All new employees joining Sinai Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and be on track toward full vaccination within six (6) weeks; participating in mandatory twice weekly Rapid Antigen Testing Program until fully vaccinated. There are very limited circumstances in which approval will be given for a medical exemption from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
