Role Description:

We welcome applications for a Media Coordinator to join the Scaling Up Maternal Mental healthcare by Increasing access to Treatment (SUMMIT) Trial, led by Dr. Daisy Singla (Clinician Scientist at LTRI). The Media Coordinator plays an integral role in the communication and dissemination of the results of the SUMMIT Trial, an investigation of evidenced-based treatments for postpartum depression and other comorbidities in this large, multi-site trial. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and coordinating dissemination activities and materials related to the SUMMIT Trial.

 

Responsibilities of the Media Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Develop, refine and implement the project’s knowledge translation and dissemination strategies to a range of target audiences (e.g., participants, stakeholders, policy makers)
  • Design and develop dissemination materials to ensure clear communication of study progress and results using technical and plain language as appropriate for the various target audiences
  • Coordinate social media outreach across study hubs (Toronto, Chapel Hill, Chicago)
  • Liaise between research team and marketing experts
  • Review documents for accuracy and appropriate language
  • Maintain regular and strong communication with various and diverse stakeholders, research team, and external interested parties
  • Assist in the preparation of research reports
  • Prepare written correspondence, reports and presentations using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Perform other related duties as required

 

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a University degree in a relevant field, e.g., pyschology, marketing, communications, business etc.
  • A minimum of one year of recent and related experience in or familiarity with a research environment
  • Direct experience in communicating science/health in an engaging way for diverse audiences
  • Direct experience developing desirable online content
  • Experience with Canva/Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop to create engaging text, images and videos
  • Experience with different social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and high-levels of responsiveness
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated verbal and written skills
  • Self-directed with an ability to make decisions and to exercise good judgement
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a flexibility to adjust to priorities
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work with a variety of individuals in a co-operative manner both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

 

In accordance with Institute’s policy and legislated health and safety requirements, employment is conditional upon the verification of credentials, completion of a health review, and demonstrating proof of immunity and vaccination status of vaccine-preventable diseases. A recent Provincial Directive mandates all employees of public hospitals in Ontario to be either fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or be regularly tested. All new employees joining Sinai Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and be on track toward full vaccination within six (6) weeks; participating in mandatory twice weekly Rapid Antigen Testing Program until fully vaccinated. There are very limited circumstances in which approval will be given for a medical exemption from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
